- Job Description:
- We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Network Operations Center (NOC) Engineer to join our team. This role is ideal for those who have foundational skills in network and system monitoring and are eager to expand their expertise in a dynamic, technology-driven environment. You will be involved in basic troubleshooting, monitoring network operations, and escalating complex issues to ensure the reliability and efficiency of our IT infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor the health, performance, and availability of network infrastructure using tools like Grafana.
- Perform initial assessment and troubleshooting of issues across various platforms including Linux servers, cloud environments (AWS, GCP), and Kubernetes clusters.
- Execute routine network maintenance tasks and apply updates as needed.
- Use scripting languages like Bash, Python, and Go for automation of simple tasks and troubleshooting.
- Manage, track, and resolve tickets and escalate to senior engineers or other departments as required.
- Collaborate with CI/CD teams to support deployment pipelines and ensure seamless software delivery.
- Participate in the development and improvement of operational procedures and documentation.
- Assist in the management and configuration of network services like DNS, SMTP, and more, using configuration management tools such as Ansible and Terraform.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Basic understanding of networking principles and protocols.
- Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments.
- Experience with cloud services (AWS, GCP) and understanding of cloud infrastructure and services.
- Exposure to Kubernetes and container management.
- Basic scripting skills in Bash, Python, or Go.
- Knowledge of observability tools such as Grafana to monitor systems and infrastructure.
- Understanding of CI/CD principles and processes.
- Effective problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure.
- Strong communication skills for reporting and documenting issues.
- A proactive approach to spotting problems, areas for improvement, and performance bottlenecks.
Education:
- (Nice to have) Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Experience:
- Previous internship or experience in a NOC, IT, or system administration role is preferred but not required.
